Academy Announces 2011-2012 Team |

The Alberta World Cup Academy just wrapped up their first camp of the season in Sovereign Lakes, BC. The on-snow camp was the first chance for the whole team to get together, bringing in five new athletes and an assistant head coach.
Bringing the most experience to the team is Phil Widmer, a sprinting powerhouse who has represented Canada at the 2006 Olympics along with the 2007 and 2009 World Championsips
Also among the new athletes is 22 year old Graeme Killick, marking his third year on the Senior Development Team and competing at the World Junior/Under 23 Championships since 2009. Rounding out the remaining U23 recruits is Matt Wylie, Gerard Garnier and Patrick Stewart-Jones, making for a powerful group of young skiers for the team.
Along with the new members of the team, ten of the athletes were named to the National Ski Team, including Jess Cockney, Graham Nishikawa, Emily Nishikawa, and Alysson Marshall as new nominations.
The 21 skiers that make up the new Alberta World Cup Academy are now looking forward to building off the previous years successes and results and aiming for another great season of skiing.
