The Alberta World Cup Academy/AWCA will further the development of cross-country skiing as a sport, through the development of programs and services for athletes, coaches and officials enabling them to

- organize
at international standards of excellence.
Vision
Athletes, Coaches and Officials from the Alberta World Cup Academy will be recognized leaders of and contributors to Canada's national cross-country ski program, competing with the best in the world.
Mission
To initiate and augment development opportunities in Alberta that target nationally competitive Athletes, Coaches and Officials, preparing them for subsequent levels of success.
The Academy will:
- Deliver an athlete development system that supplements existing local, regional and national programs
- Develop new long term coaching apprenticeship opportunities
- Expand development opportunities for officials

|  |  | A tough week of testing culminated on Canada Day for the Academy Team. The past week included VO2 treadmill and body composition testing based out of TCR Sport Lab in Calgary. This was followed by two field tests: a short uphill roller ski double pole test lasting around 4-6 minutes and an uphill skate roller ski test lasting about 12-16 minutes. » more » |
