Coaches

The tenets of coaching development are that the Alberta World Cup Academy will:

  • Provide programs that are unique in Canada, are education/experienced based, and that set new standards for coaching development.
  • Prepare coaches to be ready for entry to national teams and for international success.
  • Offer a coaching development program that is compatible the National Coaching Institute class schedule

While the class rooms of the National Coaching Institute provide the academic environment that is a necessary foundation for a coach's education, it is the real world experiences where a coach may hone their skills. The AWCA believes it is important to learn these skills in a supportive environment working side by side with a variety of experienced coaches, athletes and officials. Our goal is to ensure every candidate "really knows their job" and is prepared for every opportunity and challenge in their career.
