The Alberta World Cup Academy leaves for a week long training camp at the Beckie Scott Training Centre on the Haig Glacier today. Situated in Kananaskis Country just outside Canmore, the team will run the 18km trail up to the camp. From there, it is another 45 minute hike from the camp to the glacier where the majority of the daily training will take place.

This week entails a heavy training volume for the athletes, which will be balanced with plenty of sleep and excellent food thanks to the camp staff. This year will also mark the 3rd Annual Haig Glacier Disc Golf Championship, which has seen long time AWCA member Chris Butler go undefeated as tournament winner in the first two editions of the tournament.
