Frozen Thunder is open in Canmore!

 

The Alberta World Cup Society, organizers of the COOP FIS Cross-Country World Cup to be held February 9 – 13, 2024, is delighted to share that the start of the ski season has begun with the opening of the Frozen Thunder snow farming operation.

CANMORE, ALBERTA October 30, 2023 – Canmore’s beloved Frozen Thunder is open!. Canada’s nordic community will get an opportunity to ski on snow ahead of the start of the racing season. The first day of skiing was Friday, Oct 19th and the excitement was sky high! 

High Performance teams will again be able to have dedicated use of the track in the morning and recreational skiers, clubs and members of the public will be able to ski to their heart’s content all afternoon. As the countdown to the COOP FIS Cross-Country World Cup continues, the Organizing Committee remains focused on delivering an international sporting event that leaves a lasting legacy, fosters active living, and celebrates the performances of athletes from around the world.
